Goodale's was once a great bike shop to buy a bike from and have it serviced at, but unfortunately the latter doesn't hold true anymore. I'm not sure if they've grown too big and too busy, and their work is therefore slipping, but I won't use them for service any longer, after too many issues with basic bike work not being done well.
Subsequent visits after a recent chain-break, which was likely due to excessive wear caused by the original poor setup, only exacerbated the issues, with two additional chain breaks and gross issues with the entire drivetrain.
Great place, great people. The have a wide selection of bikes and bike parts, and the bike mechanics are both highly knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend this place.
We just purchased two bikes and a car rack from them and the guys did a great job at fitting the bikes and installing the rack
What an awesome place to buy a bicycle! Upon entering we were greeted by Dave, who was incredibly friendly and helpful to us, showing me more than a dozen different models of bicycle. When he was called to the back of the store he made sure to send another employee to continue assisting us with our purchase, and after trying 3 different kinds of bikes (They were more than happy to allow us to test ride several bicycles around the store and see how they would fit) we made an excellent selection. Definitely recommended for anyone looking to purchase bike, and their service center appeared very well staffed, and with the customer service we received I would feel confident sending my bike there for repairs too.
I purchased a Trek Fuel EX7 full-suspension bike from them last year, and the drivetrain was never setup right, nor was it corrected properly in three follow-up visits in the six months after purchase.
I have bought my first bike from here and it still work as new. Thank you so much for the wonderful support you have given me.
